following a 6-4 6-0 win over Lewis Fletcher from Hungerford. Sidney beat Rory
Smith in the semi final, while Lewis had beaten Dan Tunstall, Devizes in the
other. Catherine Graham, Hungerford beat Salisbury's Karina Weedon 6-2 6-4 in

| Salisbury Junior Tournament | The inaugural event was attended by players from all
over the country:Manchester, Swansea, Ivybridge, Nottingham, Tunbridge Wells.
Tim Rolfe was the only Salisbury players to win a title, in the 14&U he
beat Chris Clayton from Birstol 7-6, 6-2. The plate event went to William
Bannister (Bath) who beat Milo Brown (Salisbury). Josh Gook (Southampton) beat
Aaron Simkins 6-0, 6-4 to take the 16's with Christopher Lee (Andover) taking
the plate. The Boys 12&U had a 28 draw & Ryan Brough (Henley-on-Thames)
dropped only 2 games to reach the final where after a close fought first set he
overcame the left handed Luke Oakley (Birmingham) 7-5 6-1. The Girls 12&U saw 9 year old Mia Smith (Tunbridge Wells) leading 6-4 3-1 before Gabriella Taylor (Southampton) pulled a muscle & had to concede. In the plate Shaquyla Allenye (London) beat Kelsey Mosquera (Basingstoke). The 14&U final was the closest with Linnea Bengtsson (London) eventually overcoming Polly Harlow (Manchester) on a third set breaker 12-10 after sharing 6-2 sets. Marlo Boyd (Shaftesbury) received a walkover for the plate as Mia Smith was too tired to play another match. |

| Floodlight League | The League was decided in the final match with the "Nutters" 4-2 win, Chris Rolfe, Sarah Cowell, Val Baillie & Rose Duckworth pipped "Practice Makes Perfect" to clinch the title. In the Cup both these teams were knocked out in the first round to leave "Jellybeans" (Geoff Naish, Simon White, Sandy Borchert & Susan Brown) facing "O2" (Iain Littlejohn, Jeremy Heron, Lesley Maynard & Virginia Rolfe) in the final. After drawing the first round Jellybeans leapt into a 3-1 lead going into the final round. O2 pulled 1 back & a nailbitting set saw them take the match to a tie-break decider. The crowd (a record 17!) saw Jellybeans claim the title 10-7. |
| County Cup U18 Boys | Following a late injury to one of the team, Francis Smith joined his brother Rory & the rest of the Wiltshire team at Redbridge, Essex. Wiltshire lost 3-6 on day 1 against Avon with Rory winning both his singles & doubles. They lost to Northumberland 2-7 on Day 2 but had a better day on Sunday beating Isle of Man 9-0 with both Rory & Francis winning their singles & doubles. The final day result meant that Wiltshire finished third remaining in Div 6A. |
| John Jeffery Junior Tournament | A cold, icy start to the week saw the completion of
both girls events. The Girls 12s was a straightforward win for Miriam
Chapman-Rosenfeld however the Girls 14s provided the best final of the
tournament. Georgina Pool took the first set on a tie-break having trailed for
most of the set. Lauren Hill then unleashed numerous forehand winners to take
the 2nd set to love. In the deciding tie-break Georgina changed her tactics and
was unlucky to lose 10-8. Burnhams Craig Phillips comfortably won the
Boys 18s against Ben Sherlock, losing only a handful of games in the
tournament. Rory Smith won his 3rd consecutive 16&U title showing his
continuing improvement by beating Joshua Gook. Francis Smith won the 14s
against Chris Long, who was only 2 points away from losing his semi-final to
Tim Rolfe. 10 year old William Bissett won the 12s in another good final
against Finn Connor with the outcome in doubt throughout the match. George
Nixon took the under 10 title beating Oliver Blandford, after a close semi
final with James Benson. The doubles finals were vastly different with Francis
Smith & Chris Long winning the 14s easily whilst a 3 setter went down
to the wire with William Bissett & Daniel Bethell edging through 10-8
against William Jones & Michael Barry. Graham partnered Francis to beat Lizzy & George 4-2 in the final. It was Francis' 2nd win in this event. |

Francis Smith reached the last 16 of the 14Us losing to Jack Joyce of Victoria Avenue. Rory Smith reached the final of the 16Us event losing to Tom Gutteridge of West Hants 6-4, 6-4 in the final. Francis and Ben reached the quarter finals of the boys 16Us doubles and Rory, playing with Nick Brown (Victoria Park), lost in the semi-finals in a third set tiebreak in the 18Us doubles. |

The Boys 12&U winner was Alex Ho (Wootton Bassett) who beat William Homer, losing his only game in 3 matches. Salisbury's Hugo Trafford won the plate event. The doubles saw Ike Isaacsen (Devizes) win with Alex. Salisbury's Francis Smith won the 14&U event but Salisbury's Hugo Trafford lost in the plate final. Francis playing with Sam Johnston won the doubles. In the 16&U Sebastian Bartlett (New Milton) beat Francis Smith in the final while Salisbury's James Hammond won the plate. | Road to Wimbledon County Finals | 3 Players from the Club were successful in reaching the final at Delta. A superb run of three wins saw Sophia Haine beat Katy Hancock of Swindon in an exciting final 4-1, 2-4 10-8 (tb) and means that Sophia will play at Wimbledon in August and will be the youngest player to represent Wiltshire at that event. Francis Smith won 2 matches on the Saturday, dropping only one game, but lost to Mikey Puttick of Albourne 8-10 in the semi final third set tiebreak. Georgia Sutton beat Evie Reynolds 4-0, 4-1 in the third and fourth place play off. All players who reached the final were given a free hours coaching and a Wiltshire top. |

| John Jeffery Mens Open | Salisbury produced the 4 quarter finalists: Lee Mahony (the winner), Chris Chapman (runner-up), Will Baillie & the player of the tournament, Rory Smith. Rory played 3 matches on the Saturday beating seeded Matt Mai in 3 sets & Dan Tunstall also in 3 sets. He faced his coach, Lee but went down 2 & 3. The other semi-final between Chris & Will produced the match of the tournament. it difficult wet conditions Chris won 7-5 7-6 with the result in doubt until the last point was won. The final score was 6-4 7-6 although Lee had led 4-1 in the first& 3-0 in the second Chris fought all the way. Chris found consolation in the doubles with Rory he beat James Hammond & Francis Smith. |

| Junior Easter Tournaments | Cheltenham - Grade 3 Sophia Haine beat Judith Richards of Gloucester 6-1, 6-0, Patricia Vailmaa of Oxford 6-2 7-5 & won the final against Alice Snart of Avon 6-4, 6-2 to win the 10U Girls Event. Pewsey - Dreweatt Neate Chantal White competed in the Girls 10U round robin In the Boys 14U Theo Daniel and Ben Carter competed in the Qualifying Event with Ben going through to the main draw. Ben, Francis and Fergus all reached the semi-finals with Ben losing to Fergus, 6-2, 6-3 and Francis losing to Mikey Puttick of Ogbourne 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 in 2 1/2hours. Fergus (playing with an injured shoulder and with four strings broken on his racket!) lost to Mikey in the final 6-1, 6-4. Rory and Fergus both competed in the 16U main draw with Fergus losing in the semi-final to James Guthrie 6-4, 6-1. Rory went on to beat James Guthrie in the final 7-5, 6-4 - a match that lead to Rory and James Guthrie sharing the "Best Sportsmanship Award" for the Tournament. Fergus and Francis took the 14U Boys Double trophy beating Mikey Puttick and George Coward in a very tight three set final, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3. Francis and Chloe Moxham were the runners up in the 14U mixed doubles missing out on the winning place by 0.6% in a very tight and exciting round robin event. |

Roger beat Francis Smith in the handicapped singles 9-7 6-0, Pat Butler & Carl Shead 7-6 6-3 with James Bulpitt in the Mens Swaps Doubles & with his wife in the Mixed Swaps over Iain Littlejohn & Cilla Cunningham. Cilla beat Susan Brown 6-1 6-3 in the Ladies handicapped singles, with Val Baillie beating Trina Smith in the plate event. The plate of the Mens saw Carl beat Jeremy Burns. Cilla's 2nd title was the Ladies Swaps Doubles with Virginia Rolfe 6-2 6-0 over Val Baillie & Luisa Butler. Trina took the Plate event in the Ladies with Jill Coldwell beating Susan Brown & Tina Spring, & the Mixed Plate with Carl Shead 6-1 7-6 over Jeremy Burns & Lesley Maynard. The junior finals saw Francis Smith beat Joshua Stainer 7-6 6-2 in the 12&U, & Anna Rolfe finishing top of the Girls 10&U round robin. Chantal White was 2nd, Georgia Smith 3rd. |

| John Jeffery Junior Tournament | The week long John Jeffery Junior Tournament saw 118
players compete between the showers. Boys - in the10&U Ryan Bates
(Portsmouth Dome) beat Finn Connor (Great Bedwyn) 4-5 4-2 10-7 in a close hard
fought match. From a 30 draw in the 12&U Salisbury's Francis Smith emerged
the winner beating Devizes' Chris Long 6-4 6-3. In the plate event Kier
Krishnamma-Hillier (Corsham) won through 7-5 4-6 10-6 against Oliver Pringle
(Portsmouth Dome). The 14&U event saw Salisbury's Rory Smith retain his
title against Thomas Reynolds (Epping) 6-3 1-6 10-6. Maxwell Gunning
(Portsmouth Dome) took the plate 5-7 6-1 10-5 against Downton's George Coward.
The 16&U title also went to Rory Smith, emphasising his improvement this
year, comfortably beating Ben Pringle (Portsmouth Dome) 6-1 6-1 in 45 minutes.
George Pugh (Southampton) beat John Foulkes (Portsmouth Dome) 6-2 6-3 to take
the plate. The 18&U saw friends from Portsmouth Dome compete the final.
Having knocked out the number 1 seed, Jack Glennane won 7-6 6-4 against Sam
Lunn. In the plate Joshua Barrett (Portsmouth Dome) beat George Pugh 7-6
6-3. Girls - an all Salisbury 10&U final saw Sophia Haine beat Emily Bearne 4-0 4-2. Katy Hancock (Swindon) strolled to an easy 6-1 6-0 win over Reegan Greenwood (Porsmouth Dome) in the 12&U final, in the plate Salisbury's Flora Burns lost a close match 5-7 6-7 to Elizabeth Hebbes (Portsmouth Dome). Boys Doubles. Mikey Puttick was double winner taking the 18&U title with James Keen against Nathan Benham & Joshua Barrett, and the 14&U with Sam Hut over Francis Smith & Fergus Littlejohn. The final saw some good doubles from both pairs with Chris Rolfe & Francis Smith clinching the title against Ken Burns & Fergus Littlejohn. |

| County Closed | Despite a late start on Monday & virtually no play on Wednesday due to rain, the tournament finished on time. Josh Stainer, Francis Smith, Russell Neave, Fergus Littlejohn, Daniel Watts, Ben Carter & Patrick Watts all competed in the Boys 12 event, with Francis, Fergus & Ben reaching the quarter finals. Fergus lost to the beaten finalist, P Shipp (Bath) whilst Ben played exceptionally well to take C Long (Devizes) to three sets losing 3-6, 6-4, 4-10. Francis reached the semi-final & lost to the 1st seed & eventual winner, C Latham-Berry (Lancs). Rory Smith, Tom Neave, Harry Chaplin & Ben Spring entered the Boys 14 event with Rory beating J Toomer (Pewsey), N Church (Bath), B Sherlock (Downton) to reach the final against A Midwinter (Malmesbury). A very competitive match lasting well over two hours saw Rory take the title 6-4, 5-7, 6-2. Tom Williams won the Boys 18 event beating D Chaplin 7-6, 6-0 in the final. Josh Stainer & Ed James, Ben Spring & Toby Brown (Downton), Patrick & Daniel Watts, Francis Smith & Joshua Langley (Swindon) & Rory Smith & Fergus Littlejohn all took part in the 14 Boys Doubles with Francis & Josh having to play Rory & Fergus in Round 2 in a match that kept the crowd well entertained with Rory & Fergus winning 7-6, 5-7, 7-5 having been 5-2 down in the third! Rory & Fergus reached the final by beating B Langley (Swindon) & J Toomer (Pewsey) 6-2, 6-7 11-9 but lost to J Nabarro & P Shipp (Bath) 3-6, 4-6 in the final. The Girls 10 event saw an all Salisbury Final with Emily Bearne beating Sophia Haine in the final 6-0, 6-3 with both girls going on to win the doubles title beating E Reynolds & L Gilbert decisively 6-0, 6-0. Flora Burns, Alice More & Anna Featherstone entered the Girls 12 with Flora losing to the eventual winner, K Hancock (Swindon) in the semi final 1-6, 3-6, Alice lost 6-7 6-7 to G Sutton who had beaten Anna previously. Abi Burns competed in the Girls 14 event & then played with her sister, Flora in the Girls 14 Doubles. In the 14 Mixed, Francis Smith & Alice More met Rory Smith & Victoria Scipio (Devizes) in the semi-finals & a surprisingly friendly match saw Rory & Victoria reach the final where they beat L Price & B Langley (Swindon) 6-4 6-2 to take the title. |

| John Jeffery Junior Tournament | The 10&U girls event saw Salisbury's Emily Bearne lose a close match to Chloe Moxham (Devizes), while Archie Walker (Salisbury) won 4 matches including the final for the loss of only 8 games. Milo Brown (Salisbury) was 3rd. In the 12&U Francis Smith lost in the final to Martyn Hollinshead (Wareham) 4-6 2-6 with Craig Loxton winning the plate 6-1 6-2 over Salisbury's Archie Walker. The 14&U plate winner was Ben Spring who beat Jamie Coen 6-2 6-2. The main final saw Rory Smith beat George Pugh (Romsey) 1-6 7-5 6-4, although George valiently played on with a torn stomach muscle. 2 days earlier they played the 16&U final with Rory winning 6-2 6-4. Hale Harding (Downton) won the plate over John O'Brien 6-3 6-0. In the doubles Rory Smith & John O'Brien retained their title beating Joseph Nabarro (Malmesbury) & Jamie Coen on a 3rd set tie-break. |

| Eastleigh Tournament | Four junior members competed in the Eastleigh Junior Grand Prix Event over Half Term. Due to an exceptionally large entry and poor weather conditions, many of the matches had to be reduced to short sets. Fergus Littlejohn and Joshua Stainer both lost in the opening round in the U12s with Fergus losing a very competitive match against Daniel Brown, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Francis Smith, having won a very hard fought match at 9.15pm after 2 1/4 hours play on the Wednesday evening agasint Joe Boswell from Brighton 0-4, 4-2, 5-4 (9-7), lost his fourth round match in the U12s to Daniel West 4-0, 4-0. Rory Smith reached the quarter final of the U14s losing to Tom Gill of Dorset 5-4, 4-0 having beaten Jamie Armstrong a 7.2 from London in the previous round. The highlight of the week was Fergus and Francis winning the U12 doubles event by winning a rain delayed final in which they had to move courts three times. They beat Ewan Brownlie and Matthew Johstone 6-4, 6-3 winning a trophy and prize money! |

Rory Smith, Tim Gadenne, Lee Mahony and Will Baillie in the final succumbed to Richard's steady game of defense and attack. Will had beaten Paul Bartram, Peter Thompson and number 2 seed Matthew Mai on his way to the final. The plate event was won by Mark Himmens from Portsmouth. The doubles final was a walkover to Matt Mai/Mark Himmens after withdrawal by Lee Mahony. |

| Pewsey Junior Tournament | A successful week for our players. In theU12s Francis Smith, Fergus Littlejohn & Josh Stainer all reached the semi-finals. Francis beat George Coward 6-2 6-0 & Fergus beat Josh 6-2 6-1. Fergus beat Francis in the final 6-2 6-3 for his 1st title. Patrick Watts also competed but lost to Francis in the 2nd round 6-3 7-5 & Russell Neave lost to Fergus 6-0 6-0. In the U14s (Section 10.1-9.1) Tom Neave won by beating David Bray in the final 6-4 6-4. He also beat Ed James in the 1st round of the main draw but lost to Fergus 7-5 6-3. Ed James, Tom Neave, John O'Brien, Ben Spring, Rory Smith, Fergus Littlejohn & Francis Smith were in the main draw. Rory beat Joseph Nabarrro, Fergus & Orlando Lloyd 6-0 6-1 to reach the final. Ben & John lost in the first round, Francis lost in the second to James Gutherie but that was the first (& only match he played). Rory lost to Ben Sherlock in the final 1-6 7-5 TB 8-10 although having already played the U16 final when he damaged a ligament showed great courage to carry on. In the 16U 9.2-9.1 section Ben Spring, James Leatherbarrow, Tom Neave, Will Stanger & Ken Burns entered. Will, James & Ken reached the semi finals with Ken going through to the final beating George Cooper 6-3 6-3. None of them won their 1st round matches in the main draw. Josh & Patrick Watts lost in the semis to Marlow & Coward. Rory & Ben Sherlock got through to the final of U14 doubles but had to withdraw due to Rory's injury. Marlow & Stanger won the 1st round of their U18s doubles against Platel & Brown 6-2 6-2. Abby Burns won a three way round robin in the U14s but then lost to Victoria Scipio 6-1 6-2 in the semi final. | Junior Club Rankings Masters Event | The end of year event saw the top Ranked players by matches played within the Club produce some dominant play from both boys and girls winners. Rory Smith dropped only 3 games in 4 sets while Katy Hancock dropped only 1 game. Both received £20 and the runners-up - James Hammond and Miranda Naish £10. |
| Parent & Child | 12 pairs competed with Chris & Tim Rolfe, heading Group A playing Kath & Alice More, runners-up Group B, in the first semi final - which they won 4-3. Val & Will Baillie (playing left handed due to his injury) finished 2nd in Group A and beat Ros & Fergus Littlejohn who topped Group A 4-2. In the final the Rolfes pipped the Baillies 4-2. Other winners were for "Shot of the Day" - adult Ros Littlejohn for a running forehand winner, and junior Sophia Haine for an exquisite drop shot. "Nicest Players" were junior James Duckworth and adult Jill Coldwell. |

| John Jeffery Junior Age Group Tournament | The week long event produced good tennis in all age groups. Samm Butler (Ramsbury) took the 10&U title for the loss of only 2 games in his 3 matches. He beat Mikey Puttick (Ramsbury) in the final. Milo Brown won the plate event beating Archie Walker (Salisbury). Puttick did well to reach the semis of the 12&U where he lost to Fergus Littlejohn (Salisbury). Francis Smith (Salisbury) was the other losing semi finalist when outplayed by Martyn Hollinshead (Wareham). Martyn took the title 6-2 6-2. In the plate Daniel Watts (Salisbury) beat Craig Loxton (Swindon). Rory Smith (Salisbury) lost only 8 games in 4 matches beating Oliver Williams (Ferndown) in the final of the 14&U. Gwilym Flint-Roberts (Godalming) won the plate in his first tournament, beating Matthew Watts (Salisbury). The 16&U final produced the closest final with Thomas Hutchby (Bristol) winning 6-2 2-6 6-2 against Jolyon Winter (Blandford). Rory Smith won the plate. In the 18&U Rob James (Oswestry) beat Paul Hill (Bournemouth) 6-3 6-1. The only girls event was at 18&U with Rachel Popham (Pewsey) beating Chloe Bates (Wimborne) 6-2 6-1. The boys 14&U doubles was won by Oliver Williams & George Pugh (Romsey) 7-5 7-5 against Rory Smith & Fergus Littlejohn. |
| Scottish Vets Winner | Paul Zieleniewski won the Over 50 Singles in the Scottish National Vets Championships, his first ITF title. He beat last years winner. |
| Floodlight League | The 13th season of this popular competition saw first wins for Chris Rolfe, Iain Littlejohn and Val Baillie. It was Judith Cutler's 2nd title. Their team lost only 2 of their 14 matches. 69 players took part. |
| John Jeffery Matchplay Winners | The usual winter series of matchplays was spiced up this time by offering prizemoney. In the 8.1 section Oliver Williams took top position with Rory Smith second. Fergus Littlejohn topped the 9.1 section and David Hill runner-up. Tom Neave was first in the 9.2 section and Josh Stainer second. Winners received £30 and runners-up £20. |

| Senior-Junior Tournament | Our 10th Annual Senior-Junior Tournament saw 15 seniors and 12 juniors contest in 3 round robin groups. Seniors Stewart Carter, Richard Brown, Phil Hall and Jacky Witt and juniors Alice More, Alex Carter, Joshua Stainer and Rory Smith reached the semi final stage. Both were 4-1 wins for Richard and Alex over Stewart and Alice, and Jacky and Rory over Phil and Josh. With partners swapped for the final Jacky and Alex beat Richard and Rory 4-0. Jacky's win followed being runner up last year and back in 1995 in the inaugural event. |

| Junior Awards | The end of season presentation took place with Paul Hill and Joshua Stainer both collecting 4 awards. The John Jeffery Estate Agent Junior Squad prize money was given out to the winners and runners-up in each of the 10 squads, with Paul and Joshua both winning their squad. Ken Burns, Sam Beer, Abby Burns, Freddie Hacking, Nick Mundy, Francis Smith, Fergus Littlejohn and Russell Neave topped their respective squads. The summer Club Tournament trophies were also handed out where Paul picked up the U14 and U18 boys singles, and Josh runner-up in the Boys U10. The award for the Most Improved Player, presented by Club Secretary Roger Witt, went to Paul Hill at U18 level, Ben Spring U14 and Josh Stainer U10. They all showed great commitment and improvement in their game in the previous 12 months. The Players Player of the Year trophy went to Joshua Stainer. The final 2 awards for the junior players who gained the most Club Ratings points went to James Hammond and Catriona Coen. | John Jeffery Junior Age Group Tournament | The seeding committee were delighted when all the singles finals comprised the numbers 1 and 2 seeds, apart from the 18&U Boys where the number 2 seed withdrew through injury. The Boys 10&U saw Francis Smith (Salisbury) play some mature tennis to reach the final where he beat Patrick Watts (Salisbury) 5-3 4-2. In the 12&U Rory Smith (Salisbury) comfortably beat James Hammond (Salisbury) 6-0 6-2, with his forehand dominating the match. James had earlier beaten Rory's brother, Francis, in what turned out to be the longest match of the week 6-7 6-4 6-3. In the 14&U event Paul Hill (Bournemouth) played with his usual cool, unflustered approach to beat Rory Smith (Salisbury) 6-4 6-1 after having been 0-3 behind to the player 2 years his junior. Jolyon Winter (Blandford) took the 16&U on a walkover when Steve Utton (New Milton) injured his shoulder. Jolyon also won the 18&U by beating Adam Shepherd-Jones (Salisbury) 6-4 6-2. The Girls 12&U winner was Victoria Scipio (Devizes) with Natasha Misbah (Kenya) the runner-up. Victoria was also 2nd in the 14&U where Frances Paterson (Reading) won 6-3 6-1. Frances also took the 16&U crown beating Catriona Coen (Salisbury) comprehensively 6-0 6-0. The only doubles event was the Boys 14&U where a shock semi-final result saw Francis Smith and Jamie Coen (Salisbury) knock out the number 1 seeds on a 3rd set match tie-break. In the final they faced Rory Smith and John O'Brien which went to the wire with the Smith/O'Brien combination's experience saw them collect the title on another tie-break decider. |

| Individual | The John Jeffery Salisbury Open Tournament The Salisbury Open title changed hands for the 3rd year running in both the Mens and Ladies events. In the Mens semi finals Tom Williams (Salisbury) beat Eric Simpson (Salisbury) 6-1 6-3 and Lee Mahony (Salisbury) beat Gary Minns (London) 6-3 6-3. The final was affected by rain and Tom and Lee were forced to come off after Tom took the first set 6-2 with some powerful serving and heavy groundstrokes. After the break Lee found his feet and both players held serve until the 10th game when last years winner, Lee lost his serve to his former pupil, Tom, to go down 6-4. The Ladies final saw 2 players from Eastleigh meet, with Becky Burns running out 6-3 6-2 over teenager Eleanor Linsell with a more consistent game. Match of the weekend was a first round clash between Stuart Martin and Ed Goodacre which took 3 hours and 10 minutes to complete. Ed who suffered cramp in both leg and hand won out 6-4 6-7 7-5. |

| Individual | Held over the May Bank Holiday the John Jeffery over 45's singles title went to our Paul Zieleniewski. It was Paul's his first ever Open singles event and he played with great tenacity and consistency to win it. In his semi final against last years winner, Boyd Brackstone from Bournemouth, Paul saved 4 match points and recovered from 2-5 down in the 3rd set to win 4-6 6-2 7-5. In the other semi final Peter Thompson beat Maidenhead's Mike Bottomley convincingly 6-3 6-0. The final score was 6-2 6-4. In the over 55's event Salisbury's Alastair Allen had to retire when 2-0 up with a pulled hamstring. Martin Eyre from Taunton therefore won by default. |

| Individual | Pewsey Tournament. In the Mini Green Boys U9 Milo Brown came 2nd in his box but lost 5-3 in the semis. The Boys 10&U saw Francis Smith win all his box matches. Joshua Stainer won 3 matches but not quite enough to go thru as best runner up. Francis played Freddie Marlow in the semi winning 4-1 2-4 10 -3. In the final Sam Hutt, Swindon, who had only lost 1 game went down 4-2 4-2 to give Francis yet another 10&U title. In the U12s Fergus Littlejohn made a very promising start but lost to John O'Brien in the 4th round 7-5 6-3. John then lost to Patrick Shipp 6-1 6-1 in the quarter final. Francis lost to Jonathan Guthrie 7-5 6-1 also in the 4th round. His brother Rory lived up to his top seed ranking beating Chris Long 6-3 6-4, Patrick Shipp 6-0 6-4 and then Henry Marlow 1-6 6-2 10-6 in the final. In the U14s Rory beat James Guthrie 3-6 6- 3 6-1, Ben Sherlock 6-3 6-2 but lost to William Hanson 6-0 6-2. Ben Spring lost in 2nd round to Tom Wood. Ed James and Ben lost to Tom Wood and William Hanson 6-0 6-0 in the U14s doubles. Georgia Sutton beat Katie Marfleet 6-1 6-0 in the U12s girls and then lost the final to Rachana Patel 6-1 6-2. In the U12s boys doubles John O'Brien and Francis Smith were the losing finalists 0-6 0-6 to Patrick Shipp and Joseph Nabarro. Kenneth Burns and James Leatherbarrow lost in the first round of the Boys 18 doubles 7-6 6-0 to Ed Mortimer and Max Harrison. Rory Smith and Jonnie Crowley lost in the semi final to Jack Darvell and Robert Gutherie 6-2 6-1. | Individual | Hale Gardens Junior Tournament. In the U10s Francis Smith won all 3 box matches and in the semi final he beat Christopher White from Dorset, who had a lot of home support, 6-4 6-4. The Final was against Andy Case from Dorset who was the only other player to win all his box matches. Francis won 6 -3 6-2 and with it the inaugural Rumsey Cup. In the U12s our boys both lost in the quarter finals. Rory Smith lost to Jack Joyce 6-2 6-2 and Harry Chaplin to Nick Sawyer (the eventually winner) 6-0 6-0. In the U16s Dicken Chaplin beat Chris Brown of Dorset 6-2 6-2, Craig Veal of Hants in the semi 7-6 6-4 and lost to Jack Hartman 6-3 6-2. In the U18s Dicken beat Peter Fletcher of Dorset 6-1 6-0 and then lost to Jack Hartman 7-5 6-4, the eventual winner, in the quarters. In the doubles he played with Martin Baker in the U18s. | Parent and Child | This tournament was a pre-season warm up for 14 pairs on Sunday. Each match was handicapped and after the initial round-robin, 8 pairs qualified for the quarter finals. In the top half of the draw, Richard and Milo Brown lost 2-4 to Iain and Fergus Littlejohn while Trina & Rory Smith faced a match point against Phillipa & Ben Carter before winning on a tie break. The Smiths overcame the Littlejohns to reach the final. The other half of the draw saw a clash of older children with Val & Will Baillie beating Jeanette English and Jacky Witt 7-5 on the tie break. The other Smith family pairing of Douglas & Francis won 4-1 against Chris and Tim Rolfe, and then 4-2 against the Baillies to face the other half of the family in the final. Douglas and Francis won the final 4-1. All finalists received a prize. |
| "No Ratings" Tournament | Matches were first to 9 games in this new event, with the U14 prize of £25 going to Charlie Grabe (Swindon) by beating Paul Hill 9-5. Hale Harding (Downton) won the plate 9-0 against Ben Spring. In the U12s James Hammond beat David Hill 9-3 to take the money. Joshua Stainer won the plate 9-8 against Charles Turpin. |
| Mini Tennis Masters | Milo Brown won the inaugural trophy beating Josh Stainer 5-4 (7-3) in the final. The playback final saw William Bearne beat Sophia Haine 5-4 (9-7). All players received prizes. |
| Junior Club Rankings Masters | The 2nd annual event saw the top points scorers competing for £67.50 in prize money. Rory Smith beat Chris Wood 9-4 and Catriona Coen beat Miranda Naish 9-5 to take the top prizes. The losing semi-finalists were John O'Brien, Tom Neave, Abby and Flora Burns. The new season starts April 1st when points are scored for playing, winning, beating older or higher rated players and then from July for players higher ranked. |
