2009/10 Fixtures

The League Competition Rules

1) Order of play: Round 1: A+C, B+D Round 2: A+D, B+C Round 3: A+B, C+D All 1 set with tie-break at 6-6.

2) Your team gets 1 point for each set won.

3) A non-played match will count as a draw ie 3 points each.

4) A reserve in your team will lose half a point, & a reserve against your team will give half a point. This does not affect the match result. You will also lose or gain half a point if the reserve's Club Rating is higher or lower than the replaced player. This does not apply to re-arranged matches.

5) If there is a tie for the title the team with the least reserves used wins. If still tied sets, then games difference will decide.

6) If play is stopped for any reason, & the first 2 rounds have been played that result will stand & the 4 sets played made up to a 6 set score.

7) Play starts at 6.30pm on Mondays & Thursdays & 5pm on Saturdays. Please be on time.

8) If you are late games will be given to the opposing pair(s) after a 15 minute delay. For every 5 minutes or part thereof, after that you will concede a game, up to a maximum of 6. If after 30 minutes you do not arrive a reserve will be sought. If you then turn up, the reserve can decide whether to carry on, or let you step in. You will be liable to pay their match fee AND a £5 fine & your team will lose 10 points! If a reserve cannot be found then your team will concede all sets in which you are involved. They, nor your opposition will be happy & you may be expelled from the league & replaced. You will be excluded from playing in next seasons Floodlight League.

9) Fees can be paid each match at a cost of £3.50, or in advance, on your first match at a cost of £21 for the first 7 matches and £21 on your 8th match.

10) If you know when you cannot play then tell Roger - ONLY Roger, & if you paid in advance you will be refunded. However, you must give at least 24 hours notice for this to occur.

11) We will play in fog, light rain, wind, snow but not ice. See rule 6.

12) I will cancel the match if the weather is bad, so phone 07923540818, 30 minutes before start time or 505665 before that.

13) Any match cancelled will be re-arranged for a free day, normally Sundays.

14) If the match is not played the advance payees will get a credit.

The Cup Rules

The relevant League Competition Rules apply except:

Rule 1: Order of play for pairs is as follows: A+C, B+D, then A+B, C+D, then A+D, B+C. All 1 set with tie-break at 5-5.

Rule 4: Reserves have no effect on the result.

Cup Rules:

A. In the event of a draw, a pair of original team members from each team will play a 10 point tie-break to decide the match. Reserves cannot play unless they have been a regular reserve for an original team member who has withdrawn from the league or has a long term illnes/injury.

B. The pair has to be made up of an A or B player and a C or D player.

C. In the event of a team not having sufficient original team members to form a pair as above, then they forfeit the match.

D. If both teams are short of players then a coin toss will decide who progresses.

E. If there is bad weather, the format may be altered to get a result.

F. If the match cannot be played a coin toss will decide who progresses to the next round.

G. Matches will not re re-arranged due to the short timescale - the Final is the exception.
