Adult Ratings – shows winners of John Jeffery Open and Veteran Rating Tournaments.

Ages – The age in which you can play is the year in which you are that age (and lower if a junior, or higher if a veteran) For example, in 2007 10&U is for players born 1997 or later, 40 is for players born 1967 or earlier.

Alarm – if you wish to know the code then speak to Roger.

Alcohol – the bar is licensed so NO under 18s are allowed in it.

Annual General Meeting – held in early March, reflects upon the previous year at the Club, the accounts, election of committee and your chance to have your say.

Awards – annual awards are given to the Most Improved U18, U14, U10, Junior Players Player of the Year, Club Ratings Winner (by points) for Man, Woman, Boy, Girl.

Balls – new at £6, ex-match balls from £1 see Lee or Roger.

Bar – will be open when deemed necessary. Committee members and team captains are the only ones with access.

Booking Sheets – for weekends all year and for the floodlit courts during the winter.

Box League – singles play available on 8 weekly cycle.

C Home

Chewing Gum – Is NOT to be taken on court.

Clay Court Care – DO NOT wear training shoes as this will damage the surface. You will be asked to vacate the court. DO NOT play after rain until you are told to, again you will damage the court. If the stones are visible then contact Roger.

Cleaning – please Do Not leave cups/glasses around for others to clean up. Wash them up yourself.

Clothing – recognised sportswear is acceptable but no football/rugby shirts. The committee’s decision is final.

Clubhouse – If you are last to leave please ensure all doors and windows are shut, and lights are off.

Club Rating – all members are allocated a Club Rating on their ability. This is to encourage competitive play and give other organisers an idea on grading players for tournaments. You can move up and down the Ratings. There are annual cups for the highest points getters.

Court Allocation – we have booking sheets for the weekend all year round and for the floodlit courts during the winter. Club arranged play takes preference over all other bookings in the case of poor weather - county cup, inter-county match play, club match, club matchplay, social doubles, 1 day tournaments, Head Coach lessons, social play, other.

Drag – the clay courts after each set you play where possible for a more enjoyable game, and certainly when you have finished playing. It only takes a couple of minutes.

Junior Evening – Fridays is the evenings when juniors have preference on all courts. There is social play from 6.30 to 8 during the summer.

Junior National Club League – 3 singles 1 doubles for U18/U16/U14/U12 County based with winners progressing to regional play-offs.

Matchplays – these are 1-day and 2-day events for LTA Rated players. You get to play 2 players of your Rating per day.

Mini Tennis – we are an accredited Mini Tennis Centre. There is a social group Saturdays at 9.15 and from there players can be invited to attend mini squads where some funding is available.

Mini Tennis Series – for players 9 and Under once a month on Fridays in the summer and Sundays in the winter. A points scoring system leads to a winner once every 6 months. Prizes given. See Junior board for dates and details.

Veteran – you turn “veteran” in the year you reach the appropriate age. We have Ladies teams for 40 & 50 plus, & Mens for 45 & 55 plus

Visitors – are allowed 3 times in the year £2 for U18, £4 for over 18’s. Please put money in hole in the wall and sign the visitors sheet. If the visitor subsequently joins then the fees paid can be deducted from the membership fee.

Volunteers – if you are interested in even giving an hour a week, we can find you something to do.

Watering the Clay Courts – During the summer they automatically water in the morning otherwise Lee, Roger, Will, Tim, and Trina can access the shed. You may use the hose to damp down the court you wish to play on but remember to turn the tap off and don’t play on them immediately.
